How to Send a Global Calling Card

Calling cards are a popular way for people around the world to keep in touch. They are especially important in places with little access to the Internet, which enables families and friends to communicate via video/audio/text chat and email. Sending a global calling card to a person you wish to talk to in another country is a simple process that brings the time you are able to talk to each other that much closer.

Purchase a calling card online. Several calling card sites are on the Internet, and they each charge different prices for calls to and from various countries around the world. Choose the one that has the best price and selection of features for your calling needs. Watch out for the various fees the calling card provider may charge, such as a monthly service or maintenance fee or a connection charge. See whether the card has an expiration date as well.

Ask that the PIN number be sent to the person to whom you wish to talk to via email. Provide that person's email address when you check out as the destination email address. It may get tricky if you have to confirm that you bought the calling card before the PIN number is sent. In this case, it is easier to have the PIN number and confirmation sent to you. Then forward the e-mail with the PIN number to the person to whom you want to talk.

Purchase a physical calling card in a store if you prefer. Put it in an envelope, affix sufficient postage and mail it to the person you want to call you. If you want it to arrive faster, send it via a faster delivery service than the standard mail option.
