How to Speed Up Acrobat Reader 9

Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 is used to read PDF files. The performance of Acrobat Reader 9 may depend on several factors, including the overall performance of your computer. Tweaks and tricks can help the program perform faster than normal.

      Navigate to the installation location of the Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.0, which is usually C:\program files\adobe 9.0\acrobat\reader\.

      Open the plug-ins folder. Copy all the contents of the folder. Press "Ctrl" and then "A" to select all the files in the folder and then "Ctrl" and "C" to copy.

      Create a new folder in your C drive. Move the files that you copied onto the new folder. Once you have moved the files, delete the original files in the plug-ins folder. Open Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 and see if the program is running faster.

      Run a virus scan in your computer. Viruses can affect the performance of several programs in your computer, including the Acrobat Reader 9. Delete, heal or quarantine viruses and try loading Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 again to see if it yields any difference in performance.
