How to Sync Files on a MacBook With an iMac

An Apple MacBook, the laptop version of a Macintosh computer system, and the iMac, a desktop-based computer, both run the on the Mac OS, so syncing up the two systems is a relatively straightforward task. The process involves using a FireWall cable and a few commands. The files on the two computers should sync up in a matter of minutes once you connect the cable.
