Locate one of the orange screen cables connected to the left side of the circuit board. Check to make sure it is secure. If it isn't, unplug it from its port and plug it back in, making sure it is secure. If this doesn't fix your screen problem, proceed to the next step.

Slide the motherboard out of the front housing. The LCD screen will be connected to the underside of the board.
- 7
Lift the LCD screen from its side to expose the remaining orange screen cable connected to a port on the underside of the board. Check to make sure the connection is secure. If it isn't, unplug it and plug it back in. If the problem isn't fixed you can unplug both screen cables, remove the screen completely and replace it with a new screen. From there reverse the steps for reassembly.

How to Troubleshoot a Palm 700W
If you've been having hardware issues with your Treo handheld recently, chances are the problem is either the screen or the power source. Software issues can often be resolved by resetting the device, but if you're plagued by horizontal lines on the screen or the unit simply won't turn on, then the issue is likely either a faulty screen connection or a bad battery. The battery can be replaced in no time at all, but to fix a screen problem you will need to disassemble the unit.
