Check the USB connection for the wireless signal extender. Make sure the hardware is properly inserted into the port, otherwise the computer is unable to read the Wi-Fi extender.
- 2
Disconnect the Wi-Fi extender from the current USB port, then plug it into a different USB connection. Some USB ports fail to detect certain connection hardware.
- 3
Install the provided driver. If the driver is not installed, the computer is not going to understand the Wi-Fi extender or understand how to use the equipment. Insert the disk into the optical drive, and follow the onscreen instructions to install the driver.

Restart the computer. On some occasions the computer fails to boot correctly, causing some hardware to not function correctly. Because of this, restarting the computer corrects the hardware problems.

However, if the wireless signal is out of range, it is possible to extend the overall signal with a wireless signal extender.
