How to Unlock the Door Locks on a 1996 Toyota RAV4

Toyota is a manufacturer of the 1996 RAV4 SUV. The 1996 Toyota RAV4 features both the manual doors and windows. The key fob controls the unlocking and locking of automatic doors. The ignition key manually unlocks the doors to your vehicle. Depending on the features on your car, you can easily use the keyless entry or your ignition key.

Using a Key

  Insert the ignition key inside the door lock. Turn the key towards the front of the car.

  Turn the key back in its original position. You will hear a click, signifying the door has been unlocked or the lock tab will be lifted up.

  Remove the key from the lock and open the door.

  Press the unlock/lock button to unlock all the doors on the vehicle. You may also lift the door tabs to unlock the vehicle doors.

Using a Keyless Entry

  Hold your keyless remote in your hand firmly. Push the unlock button with your thumb once. Pushing the button once will unlock the driver's door.

  Push the unlock button twice to unlock all four doors.

  Open the driver's side door, before it locks again. The doors may lock in 30 seconds if the driver's side door isn't open.
