How to Take the Back Off of Insignia MP3 Players

Insignia MP3 players are small, relatively inexpensive devices onto which you can load gigabytes of your digital music collection. The Insignia's rechargeable battery allows you hours of playback time, which comes in handy for long trips and other periods away from your computer or USB power source. You must remove the player's back cover if ever you need to change or service the battery.

  Hold the Insignia MP3 player firmly in one hand so that it will not move or shift when directional pressure is applied.

  Use your other hand's thumb to press down firmly on the battery cover's grooves located on the back of the player.

  Maintain pressure to push the cover downward in the direction of its arrow. Doing so snaps the cover out of its socket.

  Slide the back cover away from the device.
