Turn off the PC. Access the rear of the computer, or the location of an open USB port.

Connect the USB cable to the external 60GB drive, and the open USB port on the PC. Plug in the hard drive to an AC outlet if external power is required. Turn the power switch to it's "ON" position, if the unit is so equipped.

Turn on the PC, allowing the computer to recognize the hard drive.

Install the hard drive's data management software, if desired. Insert the disc into the DVD/CD tray and follow the installation instructions.
