How to Use an Ice Scraper

Ice scrapers are useful during cold winter months. These scrapers are designed to effectively clear off windows and the windshield, leaving no ice buildup behind. Before using the ice scraper, turn on your vehicle and allow heat to run on high at the defrost setting. This blows the warm air out of your dashboard vents and onto the windshield, as well as the rear window in many vehicles, speeding up the ice removal process.

Position the ice scraper at any corner of the window or windshield, holding it at a 45 degree angle.

Scrape either up and down or side to side, scraping in long, even strips. For thick ice, move the scraper up and down vigorously while scraping to chip away at the ice buildup.

Continue across all of your windows and the windshield.
