How to Use Orange Oil for Scratched Leather

Leather is a flexible and durable material used in innumerable items. These include car seats, clothing, handbags, luggage and furniture. Leather is also prone to scratches. Orange oil is derived from the rind of an orange and is utilized in numerous cleaning products. You can easily fix scratches and polish leather using orange oil.

      Clean the scratched areas. Gently wipe the scratched areas with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust or dirt that has settled there.

      Pour or spray some orange oil on a clean cloth. Gently apply it to the scratch in a circular motion and let it soak into the leather for a few minutes. Wipe off with a clean, dry cloth.

      Observe the leather for color change. The leather should become slightly dark and return to its original color once the orange oil dries, making the scratch invisible.

      Avoid using the leather for one to two hours until the orange oil penetrates the leather and dries completely. Repeat steps 2-3 a few more times if the scratches are still visible.
