How to Write a Business & Corporate Profile

Think of every time you have read a blurb about an author on the back of a book, the "About Us" page on a company website or the mission statement of a business. Business and corporate profiles are all around and serve a vital role: to tell potential customers about what you do, how you do it, and why they should care about bringing their business to you.
  • Basic Profile

    • 1

The company name, address and key personnel should be included in every profile the company has, especially if there is anything of note in these elements, such as a famous or prestigious staff member or an important address. This information can be written in paragraph form or as a list, depending on its place in the profile.

    • 2

Write a brief paragraph about the history of the company. Include milestones or major accomplishments as well as the company's mission or motto. Dry histories that are difficult to read are usually filled with dates and achievements that the general public does not care about; try to write the history so the reader understands how the company's experiences can affect his own.

    • 3

Write other brief paragraphs about services or products sold, the company's financial history (if applicable to the audience) and any new or exciting information (especially if the profile will be easy to change, as on a website).

    Profile Extras

    • 1

Add quotes to your profile. Quotes can be from publications, such as reviews, from customers or from a member of the staff. Quotes can be used to feature particular accomplishments, give an overall feel for the company culture or draw attention to customer satisfaction.

    • 2

Add pictures. Even one or two well chosen pictures can convey something about a product, company or service.

    • 3

Format the profile in an attractive way. This may include putting basic information such as address and key staff to the side or using bullet points to cite statistics or quotes.
