Ideas for Hosting a Ladies Brunch in the Winter

    • Depending on where you live, winter can be a gray, cold and drab time. Consider enriching the lives of your girlfriends by taking them out of the cold and into a fun brunch adventure. From a copa cabana theme to one that embraces the charm of winter, there are plenty of ways to host a fun ladies brunch during the winter months.

    Copa Cabana Brunch

    • If you and your ladies are sick of the winter, snow and ice, consider transporting to warmer climates, inside your house that is. Transform your house into a tropical island with a few quick fixes, such as adding tiki lights from your local discount department store. Add tropical flowers and other fun decorations throughout the house to give that "just off the plane" feeling. Keep the drinks tropically themed as well, such as mai tais or mimosas, which are perfect for a brunch. Nonalcoholic drinks can still be tropical--feature pineapple juice as the main ingredient. Try mixing pineapple juice and ginger ale for a nonalcoholic mimosa.

    Winter Wonderland

    • Winter can be beautiful, especially the white, crisp snow and the decorations that light up the night. Bring winter into your home by stringing white Christmas lights throughout your place and adding fake snow around the corners of the room. The snow can easily be removed with a vacuum for quick pick up. Create a brunch that is winter-themed with rich, hearty soups and breads. You can also make Christmas-themed omelettes with red and green peppers to keep everyone in the holiday spirit.

    Holiday Themed

    • Your girlfriends may be from different religious backgrounds, making the holiday time a fun and unique experience. Consider bringing all of the religions and backgrounds together during your brunch. Celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas and other holidays all under one roof with one brunch. Ask each person to lead the way in their religion, and give each a few minutes to explain traditions and share traditional foods. This will allow you try out different foods associated with the various holidays during the brunch.
