Information on the Pulsar GTI-R

Nissan built the Pulsar GTI-R from 1991 to 1994. This three-door hatchback featured all-wheel drive and was designed to compete in the World Rally Championship's Group A class of racing. Group A requires that competing cars be derived from a standard production model.
  • Engine

    • The GTI-R is powered by a 2.0 L inline four-cylinder engine with forced air induction coming courtesy of a Garrett T3 turbocharger. This motor has a 3.39-inch bore, 3.39-inch stroke and a compression ratio of 8.3 to 1. This 16-valve DOHC motor produces 217 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 197 foot-lbs of torque at 4,800 rpm.

    Dimensions

    • Nissan's WRC Group A racer, the GTI-R, sits on a 95.7-inch wheelbase with a 56.7-inch front track and a rear track of 55.7 inches. The body is 156.5 inches long, 66.5 inches wide and 55.5 inches tall with 5.9 inches of ground clearance.

    Performance

    • The turbocharged Pulsar GTI-R has a zero-to-62-mph time of 6.0 seconds and is capable of reaching 100 mph from a stop in 15.9 seconds. This vehicle has a quarter-mile time of 14.2 seconds at 94.3 mph and a maximum speed of 138 mph.
