  Push the "Power" button on the top of the GPS to turn it on after the device is secured and connected to a power source. A loading screen will appear followed by a notification screen. Press the "OK" button that appears on the display to move past this screen.

  On the main screen, press the "Navigation" button to begin your navigation session. Hit the "New Destination" button to move to the next screen. Push the "Address" or "Point of Interest" button to specify how you want to travel.

  Push the "Country" button on the next window. A keyboard will appear on the screen. Type in the first few letters of the country and a list of countries will appear. Tap the one you want. Next, you will be prompted to enter in the city. Type in a few letters and choose your city from the list that appears.

  Use the keyboard to type in a street name if you have chosen to navigate by address. Type in the first few letters and a list of streets will appear. You can choose the street until it appears or continue to type letters until you spell the street name. Click "Next" and you will be prompted to enter a street number. When finished, tap the "Star Navigation" button to get the fastest route.

  Tap on the option that matches the type of destination you are looking for if you chose to navigate by "Points of Interest." After selecting the type of destination, type in the first few letters of the name of the place and you will see a list of available destinations. Select one from the list that appears and select "Start Navigation." The Navigon 4310 will search for the closest destination matching your criteria to your current position.
