Manufacturers claim light-emitting diode bulbs (LEDs) can last up between 25,000 to 100,000 hours. LEDs use few volts compared to traditional incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs. LED light bulbs typically cost more than traditional light bulbs, but save on electrical use and therefore on your utilities.

    Sylvania

    • The headquarters of Sylvania is in Danvers, Mass. Sylvania produces fluorescent, incandescent and high-intensity discharge lamps. The company offers LED light bulbs. For example, the Ultra PAR38 Dimmable can decrease energy consumption up to 76 percent and can run at least 50,000 hours at 70 percent lumen. You can use the light bulb indoors or outdoors.

    MaxLite

    • MaxLite manufactures fixtures and energy efficient lamps. The company features dimmable LED bulbs, stacked bulb and a variety other LED products. Some lights are available in clear, frosted or faceted glass. Places to use the light bulb include chandeliers, wall sconces and multiple-socket fixtures.

    Westinghouse

    • Westinghouse produces LED light bulbs. For example, the Westinghouse Nanolux LED lights last for up to 100,000 hours and come in one and three watts. The bulbs replace 7- to 20-watt incandescent lights. The lights are for both outdoor and indoor use for pendants, lanterns and strand lights.
