Microsoft Outlook 2000 Will Not Open Because of Newer Version of Word 2002

The Microsoft Office suite includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and Outlook for e-mail and calendaring. If you have installed Office 2002 without uninstalling Office 2000, you may find that Outlook 2000 will no longer open as expected, especially when clicking on email links. Instead of Outlook 2000 loading, Outlook 2002 will load. If you prefer to use Outlook 2000 for email and calendaring, you must uninstall the Outlook component of Office 2002.

  Click the "Start" button and select "Control Panel."

  Double-click "Add or Remove Programs."

  Select "Microsoft Office 2002" and click the "Change" button.

  Select "Add or Remove Features" and click "Next."

  Click the drop-down menu for "Microsoft Outlook for Windows" and select "Not Available."

  Click "Update."

  Click "OK" to close the installer.
