My LifeBook Won't Turn On

The Fujitsu LifeBook is an innovative laptop computer that combines affordability with a modern look and powerful computing. Knowing how to fully troubleshoot any problems your LifeBook encounters is an integral part of becoming an informed and empowered consumer. Even a failure to power on at all may seem like a catastrophic problem that would require replacing the laptop. However, sometimes the cause of this issue is simple --- it's well worth your while to try some basic troubleshooting at home before spending money and time on getting your laptop serviced.

Plug the supplied AC adapter from the LifeBook into an electrical outlet to allow the battery to charge. If the battery is completely discharged, the LifeBook won't power on, so allow a few moments for the LifeBook to charge and try to power it on again. It takes longer than a few moments for the battery to completely charge, but at this point it should have at least enough of a charge to power on with the AC adapter still plugged in.

Plug the AC adapter into a different outlet to ensure the first outlet you tried wasn't a dead one. If one electrical outlet isn't providing current and the LifeBook's battery is discharged, the LifeBook won't power on. The best way to test for this is to plug the adapter into a different outlet and to have an electrician examine any outlets that appear to be dead.

Replace the LifeBook's battery. Press the battery-release latch and remove the old battery, placing the new battery into the battery bay and closing the lid until the latch locks back into place. Make sure to use a battery that's compatible with your model of LifeBook --- using an incompatible battery can damage your computer. Try and power on the LifeBook again after installing the new battery.
