- 1
Remove the protective covering from the top of your ink cartridge that will be covering the refilling holes.
- 2
Dip the tip of the syringe into the correct color of ink that you want to refill. Pull up on the plunger to fill the syringe with ink. Replace the cap of the ink bottle to prevent spills.
- 3
Insert the tip of the syringe into the appropriate hole for the type of ink that you are refilling. The placement of the hole will depend on the brand and type of ink cartridge you are refilling. Refer to the owner's manual of your printer if you are not sure which hole to insert the ink into.
- 4
Press the plunger gently to fill the empty cartridge with ink. Do not move too quickly or you could inject air into the cartridge. Fill the cartridge with approximately 5 mL of color ink or 20 mL of black ink. If ink begins to run out of the top of the hole, dry it off with a paper towel or a cloth rag and pull out excess ink using the syringe.
- 5
Replace the protective tape over the top of the hole when you are finished refilling. Re-insert the cartridge into your printer following the guidelines in the user's manual for the device. Print a test page to ensure that the refilling process was successful. If the page does not print properly, remove the cartridge and try the process again.
