Troubleshooting a Maytag Accellis 2X Range Top

The Maytag Accellis 2X electric range has a glass-ceramic cooktop and speed cook options that use a combination of radiant heat and microwave energy to cook food in the oven. The oven can also be used in a conventional manner, with broil, bake and self-clean options. The ceramic cooktop uses a variety of surface controls to provide an array of cooking options, including various temperature settings. Troubleshooting potential problems with the range top may help identify and fix the issues without the need for technical assistance.
    • 1

Ensure the Accellis is properly connected to a working power supply if the cooktop will not turn on or function. Reset circuit breakers or fuses if necessary.

    • 2

Clean the range top with a ceramic cleaning agent if debris or marks remain on the surface. This may be caused by debris, dirt or food residue becoming trapped under dishes and being dragged across the surface. Always clean the cooktop surface after every use, but do not wipe the surface clean with a dirty cloth, as the dirt may transfer to the surface and leave marks.

    • 3

Wipe the ceramic surface clean and use a ceramic repair cream, available at most hardware or home repair stores, if metal marks or scratches occur on the range top.

    • 4

Use the appropriate temperature settings on the control knobs if food takes too long to heat or heats too quickly. Push in and turn the knobs to the desired heat setting, turning the thermostat up to the next heat setting if the food is cooking too slowly or turning it down one setting if the food is cooking too slowly.
