The Yaak Valley is located in a rural area in the northwestern corner of Montana. The valley includes the town of Yaak and extends to the southwest until it meets a river along the Idaho border. This area is a mecca for hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing and wildlife viewing. One hotel is located near the town of Yaak, while others can be found in the southern end of the valley.
Yaak River Lodge

The Yaak River Lodge is primarily designed to host outdoors enthusiasts and groups of up to 45 people. It is two miles from the town of Yaak and located along the Yaak River. Cell phones do not work in the lodge, but free Internet access is available in the building. The lodge has a variety of accommodations, including four suites with private baths, wall-to-wall carpeting and adjustable thermostats. Its Honeymoon Suite has its own Jacuzzi, while its bunkhouse rooms are ideal for groups. Fishing cabins can also be rented. The lodge has its own full-service restaurant as well as an on-site gift shop and tackle shop. Guests also receive a free canoe rental. Pets and children under 12 are not allowed.

Swanson Lodge

The Swanson Lodge is approximately 15 miles from the southern end of the Yaak Valley, seven miles from the town of Troy situated at the base of the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness area. The lodge, which is on a property that encompasses 100 acres and opened in 1948, features hiking trails that provide wildlife viewing opportunities. Its six rooms are individually furnished and decorated, and feature amenities such as thick quilts and log furniture. Each room has its own theme, including one with Native American spears, arrowheads and tools. Attractions in Troy include a museum, live entertainment on Friday nights and a theater. Amenities at the lodge include a breakfast, two big-screen TVs, air hockey, ping pong tables and exercise equipment. Weekly rates are available along with rentals of mountain bikes and ice skates.

Rodeway Inn

The Rodeway Inn is approximately 25 miles southeast of Yaak Valley, located off of Highway 2. It is in the town of Libby, which is surrounded by three wilderness areas, two rivers and more than 100 lakes. Features in the Libby area include the Heritage Museum, Ten Lakes Scenic Area, a golf course, gold panning area, skiing, casino and the Yaak Falls. Libby also has restaurants, cocktail lounges and specialty boutiques. Complimentary amenities at the Rodeway Inn are coffee and pastries and local telephone calls. The hotel has a heated indoor pool. Pets are allowed for a fee and non-smoking rooms can be requested. Some rooms have a microwave, refrigerator and work desk. Cold weather hookups are available in the parking lot.
