Websites That Compile Flight Deals

  • Priceline

    • At Priceline, not only can you search for the cheapest rates for particular dates and times, but they also offer a program called Name Your Own Price that allows you to save up to 40 percent on your flight. With NYOP, you need to be flexible with your flight date, but you choose the price you are willing to pay and the airport that you want to travel to and from. Priceline lets you know if your desired price point is acceptable by the airline and advises to select multiple airlines and the highest price point as possible.

Dozens of domestic airlines are available through Priceline, including US Airways, Delta Airlines, AirTran Airways and Continental Airlines. International airlines offered through Priceline include Air Canada, Lufthansa, KLM-Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air and Vietnam Airlines. Priceline offers discount flight pricing to travel all across the globe on all continents except Antarctica.

    Momondo

    • Comparing more than 700 travel sites, Momondo searches for the best deals among other sites, but they are not a travel agency that sells airline tickets. Momondo has received praise from USA Today, CBS News, Travel+Leisure Magazine and the Chicago Tribune as the travel site was voted best overall in airline flight searches by London's Sunday Times, according to Frommer's site. Flights that are domestic and international can be searched on Momondo, and all you need to do is enter your flight departure and return airports. The website displays the available flights using a bar graph, and includes a five-week time frame, ticket type and all prices available for each of the flights. Request a Fare Alert that will email you when the flight or trip you request becomes available.

    Kayak

    • Kayak deciphers a list of more than 140 travel sites to find the best flight price. After entering your flight departure and return details, Kayak searches among other travel sites, including Priceline, Hotwire, CheapOair, Expedia, Delta and Travelocity. Kayak does not serve as a travel agent; it is a search engine for flight booking sites. Travel searches allow for up to three days of flexibility on the flight schedule, and trips must be within one year of your search date. Kayak is available for Blackberry, IPhone, IPad and Android using a free application.
