Use a towel or disinfectant to wipe down your weights, machines or benches after you are finished using them. Put away any extra weight plates or equipment you have used.
Practice Personal Hygiene
-
Be aware of your odor, especially after a hard workout. Wear deodorant or change your shirt if you notice that you are starting to smell.
Share
-
If you are using several sets of dumbbells or barbells, allow other exercisers to share the weights during your rest periods. When using a popular machine, finish your workout quickly so others can get to it.
Take Care of the Equipment
-
Do not drop or slam down the weights. Once you are finished with a set of weights, place it back in its proper spot on the weight rack. Only use the equipment in the way it was meant to be used.
Respect Others
-
Do not talk to other exercisers while they are in the middle of their workout as you could cause them to lose focus. Keep your conversations with other exercisers to a minimum as they are there to work out, not have a chat. Do not have rowdy conversations or phone calls and do not make loud noises that can disturb other people around you.
Don't Flirt
-
Do not stare at other exercisers. Unless you know them, do not approach other exercisers, especially with the intent of flirting with them. People go to the gym to work out, not get hit on.
