"Westward III: Gold Rush" is a strategy game for the PC set in the Old West. The game consists of numerous mini-missions, at the beginning of which players choose a hero and complete subsequent campaigns by building towns and infrastructure. Considering the versatility of options and variability of game play, "Westward III" is not an easy game to grasp immediately. However, basic tips and strategies will help you along the way.
Fighting
-
When you play the mini-games through the sheriff's department, always build extra sheriff's offices; a minimum of three should be the norm. Once they are constructed, hire as many deputies as you can. You need to have considerable firepower before taking on the bandits. Before challenging them directly, get your hero to run through the bandit's town, collecting as many items as possible.
Once you have first aid boxes and weapons caches, upgrade all your gunslingers before going into battle. Go directly to the bandit camps -- do not get distracted by other groups or fight them if it is not unnecessary. You should enter enemy camps with completely healthy deputies carrying full upgrades.
Repair
-
Always have plenty of gunslingers to defend your town from bandits. Additionally, if you drag a deputy or sheriff to a horse stable, he will be upgraded for the price of 30 gold coins. Its important to be able to heal your gunslingers; make sure the pawn shop is always in good condition so that you can buy health kits there when required.
In general, having damaged buildings in your town will make the local residents unhappy. Figure out what characters have favorite buildings and make them construct those buildings; this will unlock extra bonuses that will speed up construction.
Wine
-
To have a wine shop, you must first be able grow grapes on your farm. And to unlock grapes, you must have flower planters that will develop the the grape vines for you. Get people to visit the planters, as they do so the colors of the flowers that the planters go will slowly change. Eventually, once enough visits have been made, the colors will turn purple. Purple flowers indicate that you can grow grapes and subsequently open a wine shop.
Unlockables
-
Get the Silver Ring by mining silver and creating a blacksmith. To acquire the ostriches, collect all the Easter Eggs. Get the "black horse" by building at least five stables, and get red flowers by building flower boxes and watering them until they turn red.
