Why Do Labels Stick in a Printer?

The most common reason that labels stick in the printer is a printer jam. This occurs when the label sheet is just a little out of line from the other sheets of paper.

Unjamming a Printer

• To unjam a printer, refer to your printer's instructional manual for the location of the trays. Most printers have a back door where the paper can be easily removed. If you do not have a physical copy of your manual, you can usually download it from the manufacturer's website. Be sure to remove any individual labels that stick in the printer.

Printing Labels Straight

• It is important to start with a perfectly straight, flat label sheet. Insert it right in line with all the other paper in the tray. You may want to also take out a stack of paper, position the label sheet on top of it and lay the whole pile back into the tray.

Reprinting After a Jam

• Some printers require you to turn them off and on before you begin printing again after a paper jam. This may be a good idea to ensure that the printer prints . You will also have to reprint your page from the computer after a paper jam.
