Yamaha 1300 1998 Royal Star Deluxe Specs

    • The 1998 1300 Royal Star Deluxe was a cruiser motorcycle developed by Yamaha and part of a range dating back to 1996. The external differences between the 1998 cruiser and the original 1996 version were the addition of a windscreen, a pair of mufflers and hard side-bags. This line of motorbikes was discontinued in 2001.

    Dimensions

    • The back wheels of the Yamaha measure 15 inches in diameter and the front wheels are slightly larger at 16 inches in diameter. The seat is positioned 28 inches from ground level and the dry weight of the motorcycle -- the weight of a vehicle once it has been emptied of all of it fluids, such as gas and oil -- is 697 pounds.

    Power

    • The Royal Star can reach speeds of 112 miles per hour and accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in six seconds. With a maximum 74 horsepower at a rate of 5,000 revolutions per minute and 88.9 foot-pounds of torque at 3,250 revolutions per minute, the bike is driven by a V-type engine. The engine employs a four-stroke system, which means the intake, compression, combustion and exhaust strokes occur every two crankshaft rotations. It has four cylinders, each of which contains four valves. The engine has a 79-cubic-inch displacement, which is the volume sweep of the pistons inside each cylinder in one movement from top dead center (TDC) to bottom dead center (BDC.) It is kept cool by a liquid cooling system, the most commonly used engine cooling method. Kicking this all off is an electronic starting system.

    Other Features

    • Transmitting the power down into the wheels is a five-speed transmission system with shaft final drive. To bring the 1300 Royal Star to a halt, Yamaha has employed double-disc brakes at the front of the motorbike and a single-disc brake helps out from the back. A wet plate hydraulic clutch is operated through the left-side lever. The fuel tank of the bike can hold a maximum of 4.8 gallons of fuel.
