A National Historic Landmark, the Victorian-style Wawona Hotel considers itself a European-style hotel offering accommodations without televisions or phones. Adding to the European atmosphere, rooms at the Wawona are decorated with antique furnishings and are available with private bathrooms, as well as with the more international shared bathroom setup. Located just four miles from the Mariposa Grove of Big Trees, Wawona Guests can take the nearby trail up through the California Tunnel Tree to the Grizzly Tree, which is believed to be the oldest living tree in existence.
