As a copier, the 1630 produces prints or copies at a rated speed of 16 pages per minute. When equipped with a document feeder, it can automatically feed up to 30 sheets of letter sized paper. The 1630 comes in several different models including the 1630f, which includes a fax board.

When a fax board is added, the 1630 can send and receive faxes using the installed fax board. It sends and receives using Super G3 fax compression. When connected to a network, users can send faxes from their PC's across the network to the 1630.
