Exterior Styling

Though it was part of the 1958 Bel Air series, the Impala featured a crossed-flag insignia above the scripted Impala name rather than the Bel Air name that was on the rest of the series. Exterior features included twin driving lights, triple tail lights and unique side trim.
Interior Styling

Though the car was lower, the interior was spacious with plenty of headroom. Features included bright fabric upholstery, a foot-operated parking brake, a two-spoke sporty steering wheel and an AM radio with a rear speaker.
Engine

The standard 1958 Chevrolet Impala came with a straight in-line six-cylinder engine, but several optional V-8 engines were offered, including 283- to 348-cubic-inch V-8s able to provide up to 315 horsepower.
