6.1 L Hemi Performance

The Hemi engine is the most powerful engine offered in all of Chrysler's passenger car lines, excluding the Viper's V-10. Models equipped with the 6.1 L Hemi V-8 bear the SRT8 name after their model designation.

    • The 6.1 L Hemi V-8 is a 16-valve OHV design. This naturally aspirated motor has a bore of 4.06 inches, with a 3.58 inch stroke and a compression ratio of 10.3 to 1. This powerplant has a peak horsepower rating of 425 at 6,200 rpm, while it reaches its peak torque of 420 foot-pounds at 4,800 rpm.

    • The Chrysler 300 SRT8 model equipped with the 6.1 L Hemi V-8 yields 13 mpg city and 19 mpg highway. This engine is exclusively mated to a five-speed automatic transmission in this sedan.
