The Difference Between Qwest DSL & Qwest Broadband

Consumers have many choices when it comes to Internet connection types and Internet service providers. Qwest's DSL and broadband Internet packages offer solutions to both home and small-business users.
  • Availability

    • Qwest is an Internet service provider that offers multiple connection solutions to home and small-business consumers. Qwest DSL is available at speeds ranging from 7 Mbps to 40 Mbps for $19.99 per month (for the first six months), as of November 2010. Qwest's broadband solutions offer 1.5 Mbps connections starting at $52 per month.

    Benefits

    • Qwest offers multiple plans with staggered pricing to its DSL and broadband customers. This allows the consumer the option to choose which is most important: price or speed. Additionally, both services offer speeds that are at least 26 times faster (based on a 1.5 Mbps speed) than traditional 56k dial-up Internet service.

    Considerations

    • Qwest broadband Internet is geared toward business users who require Internet service for multiple machines and who are looking for long-term (at least three years) solutions. Although the broadband prices are higher, Qwest offers additional support, including website design and hosting, domain name registration and fax over email service.
