The biggest difference between a wall-mounted sink and a pedestal sink is how they stand. A wall-mounted sink will be firmly attached to the wall and pedestal sink attached to the floor and wall The piping is encased by a porcelain column. Pedestal sinks are generally made of enameled cast iron or vitreous china. They are usually more expensive than wall mounted sinks and are elegant and stylish. They work well in small spaces but they are difficult to self-install. Pedestal sinks also come with three different hole configurations and installer must be sure the sink and faucet match.

The sink you purchase may or may not come with a faucet. You may also choose to upgrade the faucet the sink came with and find something more fitting for your personal style. You can upgrade any sink with a simple faucet switch. Faucet prices depend on the style, design and material it is made of. Most faucets are chrome, but you can find faucets in almost any style to fit your sink needs. Check the faucet and sink have the same configuration.
