Do it Yourself Oil Change on an R1000 Yamaha Motorcycle
The Yamaha R1 or R1000 is a 1,000 cc sport motorcycle. On the bottom of the crankcase is a small 1/4-inch nut that is the oil drain plug. Changing the oil on this bike yourself will void any warranty that is still on the bike. A piece of special paint marks the position of the nut when the bike left the dealership, letting the dealership know if the nut is tampered with.
