James Hardie is a manufacturer of fiber-cement building products, including HardiePlank lap siding, which is used in residential homes. HardiePlank siding is available in a variety of textures and colors, in one of two material configurations based on the location and climate of the home. Each of the HardiePlank styles comes in 5/16-inch thick, 12-foot long planks. Width and exposure--the amount of siding visible on each plank when installed--vary by style.
