Health Care Tuition Reimbursement Policy

Some employers in the health care industry encourage continued education of their current employees by reimbursing tuition for courses and degrees related to their current career, career goals or the mission of the institution.
  • What Is Covered

    • Coverage varies based on employer. Examples of expenses that may be covered as an employee are cost per course, degree tuition, certification costs and living expenses. Generally, employers require that the courses be directly related to your current job title, possible promotion or the field in which you work.

    How to Obtain Reimbursement

    • Employees can get information on specific coverage and amounts by speaking with the human resources department at their current job. Generally, employers require an application from the employee submitted to them first, explaining why the candidate is returning to school.

    Process

    • In general, health care tuition reimbursement is paid with proper documentation from both the human resources department at the employer and the school. Documentation from the school can include grades, costs and current course enrollment.
