How Can I Delete My Orkut Account When I Forgot My Password?

Orkut is Google's version of a social networking site. To delete your Orkut account, you must have your user name and password. However, if you have forgotten your password, Google provides a process you can follow to retrieve it. Once you have retrieved your password, proceed with the cancellation process of your Orkut account.

Retrieve Password

  Go to Orkut's sign-in page and click on the link that says, "Can't access your account?"

  Enter the e-mail address you used when you set up the account. If a security code pops up, type in the word listed on the screen.

  Choose the e-mail address where the password should be sent. If you no longer have access to the particular e-mail address listed, click on the link provided.

  Check the e-mail address for password retrieval. If you clicked on the link that said you no longer have access to that e-mail address, fill out the form provided by Google and wait for Google to contact you.

Delete Account

  Go to the Orkut homepage and sign in.

  Click on the "Settings" tab at the top of the page. A new window will pop up.

  Under the "General" tab, click on "Delete My Orkut Account." This will take you to an accounts page where you must click on the box that states you want to delete your Orkut account. Enter your password again.

  Click on the button that says, "Remove Orkut." This will delete your Orkut profile, but you will still have a Google account.
