How do I Decompile ICQ Account Information?

When you set up your ICQ instant messenger account, you have the option to personalize and improve your ICQ experience by selecting your preferred availability settings and general preferences. You can also configure your account to be able to send free SMS (mobile) messages. When you enter personal information such as your email address and phone numbers, ICQ publishes your information on its directory, which makes it public and accessible to other people. To avoid the misuse of your private information on ICQ, you can edit your account settings to protect any information you don't want published.

ICQ Details and Email

  Log into your ICQ account.

  Click on the "Main" tab and click on the option that says "ICQ Details/Email" located on the left side of the window.

  Click on the email address located in the email dialog box to select it. This is the email you provided when you set up your account. Click on the "Edit" tab displayed to the right of the email dialog box. Click on the checkbox located next to where it says "Don't publish my email address on ICQ directories. Save for password retrieval purposes." Thereafter click on the "OK" button and then click on "Apply". This will keep your email address from being published in the ICQ directories ensuring that it remains secure and private.

Phone and SMS Details

  Log into your ICQ account and click on the "Main' tab.

  Click on the "View/Change My Details" option and select the "Phone Book" preference displayed on the left side of the window.

  Click on the number you have entered on your ICQ account and then click on the "Delete" tab to erase it from the system. Now it will no longer be published on the ICQ directory. If you have entered more than one phone number, you will have to delete each number individually. After you delete a number, click on the "OK" tab and then on "Apply" to save the changes.
