How do I Put Linksys Wpc300n Into Monitor Mode?

The Linksys WPC300N is a wireless network adapter for laptop computers. You will install the Linksys monitor software when you install the adapter's drivers from the software CD. You can switch between using the Monitor mode or the built-in Windows wireless mode by using the icon that appears on your computer's task bar. The Linksys Monitor mode allows you to search and connect to nearby wireless networks with your adapter.
  • Enable Wireless Network Adapter

      Click the "Start" button and choose "Control Panel."

      Click "Network and Internet Connections," then click "Network Connections." This will show you a list of network adapters currently on your laptop.

      Right-click your "Linksys WPC300N" wireless network connection.

      Click "Enable" from the drop-down menu if the network card has been disabled. You will not be able to turn on the monitor software if your card is disabled.

      Close the "Network Connections" window once the network card is enabled.

    Launch the Monitor Software

      Right-click on the Linksys Monitor icon on your computer's task bar. It will be gray if it is disabled.

      Click "Use Linksys Wireless Network Monitor" from the icon's options. You should now see the Linksys Monitor icon turn green when you enable Monitor mode.

      Double-click the icon to launch the Monitor software. You will now be able to see and connect to the local wireless networks that are within your network card's range.
