How Do I Share Dial Up With a Satellite Receiver?
There are satellite receivers that require a telephone connection to enable video-on-demand (VOD) ordering. You can share the dial-up needs of another device--for example, a laptop that uses a dial-up modem--with the telephone outlet connected to a satellite receiver. You will not have to modify the telephone outlet, nor will you need to purchase any special tools. A single telephone accessory easily obtained from an electronics store or even a drugstore is all you need.
