How Do You Scan With an HP Officejet 6310?

The HP Officejet 6310 is an all-in-one device capable of printing, faxing, copying and scanning documents. Scanning not only enables you to save and store digital copies of your documents on your computer, but it allows you to transfer and email them as well. Using the Officejet 6310's scanning feature is a fairly simple process, and using it to digitize your documents and projects will help you get organized and avoid clutter.

      Lift the lid and place the document print-side-down on the scanner glass.

      Move the document to the right front corner of the glass, then lower the lid.

      Press the "Scan to" button. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the application on the computer that you want to send the fax to on the Officejet's screen. Press "OK" to select the application you want to use. A preview image of the scan will appear on your computer screen. Click "Accept" to save the scanned document.
