How to Access the System BIOS in an eMachines

Your computer's BIOS is the basic software that allows your computer to boot up. In basic terms, it enables your computer's hardware to communicate with the operating system. Entering the BIOS allows you to alter very basic system information pertaining to your computer's hardware. Access the BIOS setup window as your computer is booting up.

      Click on the "Start" menu in the lower-left corner of the screen. Click "Shut Down," and click the "Restart" option.

      Press on the "Tab," "ESC," "F2" or "Delete" keys as soon as the eMachines logo appears. This command varies depending on your computer's specific model.

      Use your keyboard's arrow keys to navigate to "Main Menu." Press "Enter."

      Use the down arrow key to navigate to the "BIOS Version" entry. Press the "Enter" key to enter the BIOS setup window.
