How to Access a Terminal Server From a Web Browser

With Terminal Services Web Access enabled, you can access your terminal server remotely through any system's Web browser that is allowed remote access to the server. This will allow you to perform server management and other basic functions, and to control a remote desktop, all through a Web interface. Terminal Services Web Access is a near-essential component for systems administrators who are between multiple locations and need to be able to perform administrative tasks in each location.

  Launch an additional Web browser tab or window in Internet Explorer. You do not have to use Internet Explorer, but Microsoft's Web Access products are designed to work with Internet Explorer.

  Click "Tools," then "Internet Options." Click the "Security" tab, then the "Custom Settings" button. Scroll down to "Active Scripting" and make sure that it is set to "Enabled." Terminal Services Web Access requires the use of JScript so you will need to enable scripting on any Web browser you plan to use to connect. JScript is disabled by default of Internet Explorer 7 and later.

  Restart your Web browser to apply the changes. Navigate to "http://server/ts", where "server" is the domain name or IP address of your server that is running Terminal Services. Enter your username and password when prompted to establish a connection.
