- 1
Start at the lowest point of the installation area and unroll the stucco wrap from one end to the other. If the installation area is wider than your rolls of wrap, overlap the vertical edges by 6 inches.
- 2
Attach the wrap to the installation surface using wide-head nails and a hammer at 12-inch intervals along the horizontal length of the wrap. Run the nails through the middle of the wrap.
- 3
Secure the wrap along the top and bottom edges in the same intervals as the nails you placed in the middle of the wrap.
- 4
Apply the next rows of wrap in the same way you applied the first, overlapping the horizontal edges by 6 inches. Secure the edges and the middle of each row of wrap in the same way.
- 5
Extend the wrap to cover over any open windows or doorways. You will create openings after securing the wrap in place.
- 6
Tape down all of the horizontal seams using stucco-wrap tape. You should also apply tape to the seams between the sheets of the wrap in a single row.
- 7
Make a straight vertical cut down the center of any windows or doorways with a utility knife. The cut should stop halfway down the length of the opening.
- 8
Cut diagonally down and to the left from the bottom of the straight cut until you reach the lower left corner of the opening. Do the same from the bottom of the straight cut down to the lower right corner.
- 9
Pull the excess wrap down and tape it in place. Apply flashing all around the edges of the opening and nail the flashing down to cover the exposed edges.

How to Apply Stucco Wrap
The DuPont Corporation has been making products that changed the world since 1802, when the company produced the black powder found in explosives. DuPont is responsible for rayon, Lycra, Teflon and Kevlar (the material from which bullet-resistant vests and body armor are made). DuPont also created stucco wrap, which is used as insulation beneath stucco facades and serves to weatherproof and moisture-proof buildings so that they use less heat and air conditioning.
