How to Change the Fog Lamps on a 2001 Hyundai XG300

The fog lights on your 2001 Hyundai 300XG make it safer to drive your vehicle in foggy conditions. If one the lights go out, not only will it be harder for you to drive in the fog, but you may receive a "fix it" ticket from the local authorities for driving a vehicle with a faulty light. Thankfully, replacing a fog light is a very simple process that only requires a socket wrench and a replacement bulb.
    • 1

Turn the headlamp switch to the "Off" position. Turn the wheels all the way in the direction of the fog lamp that you are changing.

    • 2

Reach under the wheel well, on the side where you are replacing the fog lamp, and locate the eight rivets holding the well liner in place. Use the socket wrench to remove the rivets. As removing the rivets may take some time, you may find it easier to remove five or six rivets in order to peel the well liner back to access the bulbs.

Remove the wheel well liner and set it aside. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fog lamp assembly.

    • 4

Rotate the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly. Use a paper towel to install the new bulb by rotating it clockwise into the assembly.

Reconnect the electrical connector and place the wheel well back into its original position. Reinstall all of the rivets.
