Set up the six speakers around the room with the LF and RF (left front and right front) speakers on each side of the TV. Set the center speaker above the TV and the two rear speakers behind the seating area on the left and right. The subwoofer, which is the biggest of the speakers, can be placed on the floor near a wall, where it won't be in the way.

Connect each speaker to the terminals labeled for that speaker on the rear of the LG main unit, using the supplied speaker wires. The striped wire connects to the red terminal. Attach the other wire to the black terminal on the speaker and the LG receiver.

Plug in an HDMI cable to the labeled port on the rear of the LG receiver or insert the blue, green and red plugs on one end of a component video cable into the colored jacks on the receiver.

Connect the other end of the video cable to the appropriate port on the rear of the TV.

Connect an optional stereo component, such as a CD player, to the two "AUX Audio Input" jacks on the rear of the LG receiver. The white stereo plug connects to the left channel and the red plug connects to the right.

The LG LHT784 is a home theater system with five speakers and a subwoofer that connect to an audio/video receiver with a built-in DVD player. The system comes with speaker wire for hooking up the speakers. Connect a TV with either an HDMI or component video cable to the LG system for a complete home theater. HDMI, which stands for high-definition media interface, provides a high-quality digital signal. A component video cable is tipped on each end with three color-coded plugs.
