Measure six inches down from the top of a door frame, and make small pencil marks on both the right and left door frame. Use a door frame or entryway that measures at least six feet from the floor and has at least one foot of headroom from the ceiling to allow you to perform the pull-ups correctly and not hit your head.
- 2
Drill into each door frame, using the pencil marks as a guide. Drill about a quarter of the way into the frame, then manually screw in each eye screw into each hole until the screws holes are flush with the door frame. Make sure the openings in the heads of each screw are parallel with the floor.
- 3
Set the iron pipe on the floor of the side of the door frame opposite to where you're standing. Cut the 10-foot climbing rope into two separate 5-foot lengths, and tie a knot into one end of each piece. Pull each 5-foot length through each eye screw head until the knots are flush to the screw heads.
- 4
Stand on the side of the door frame where you will place the iron bar; pick up the bar and wrap each end of the bar with the free ends of the climbing rope. Coil the rope tightly around the bar ends, and tie it into knots. Add a bit of adhesive gel to each knot to add additional strength. Wrap the rope coils with duct tape to add more stability as well as to create a cushion to keep the bar from scratching the door frame or wall.
