How to Create a System Image
Modern PCs have a generous amount of hard drive space to store not only the operating system, but also third-party applications and user-created data. Attempting to back up a hard drive using the copy-and-paste method would be daunting. If you have Windows 7, you can use its backup utility to make an exact and reusable image of the system without all the hassle of copying and pasting.
