How to Customize Your Own Playset Kit

Playset kits are a must have if you have children. They come in several different sizes with a wide variety of extra kits to create the customized playset of your children's dreams. One of the best features about the accessories and add-on kits for playsets is that you can build and expand the playset little by little as the children grow older and learn more motor skills. You can constantly upgrade and improve your own playset kit quickly and easily to match the needs of your developing child and expanding family.

Measure the area in your yard that you have available for your own playset kit. It is best to allow at least 4 feet between the playset and a boundary like a home or a fence so the children can run around all the sides of the playset kit.

Select the base playset kit to start with that meets the available area in your yard, offers the customizable options you are interested in and fits your family budget.

Choose the color of the wood for your playset. You can also paint the wood or stain the wood to create a custom look for the children or to coordinate with your house paint.

Install age appropriate features and add ons to your playset kit. If you have a very small baby, consider a baby swing or a baby swing plane. If you have twins, consider a double plane. If you have children of several different ages, add a swing that holds more than one child at the same time so they can play together.

Add a screen or a roof to your playset to give children the clubhouse feel and to protect them from harmful sun rays.

Install a variety of slides to the playset to give your children several options to choose from. Add extra layers of mulch underneath the slides to soften the landing spot.
