Call your wireless carrier's customer service line. Ask about a dial-lock plan, which will allow only phone users who know a pass code to make calls from your phone. This will likely cost an extra fee, but it may save you money in the long run.

Go to your phone's Settings menu, then Security sub-menu to find your dial lock code once your plan has been activated. Reset it to a number that's easy for you to remember, but hard for someone else to guess. Now only you can make long-distance calls from your cell phone by prefixing phone numbers with your new code.
