How to Disassemble a Coolpix L16

Released by Nikon in 2008, the Coolpix L16 is a compact digital camera with a 7 megapixel CCD (charge coupled device) sensor and a 3x times optical zoom lens. When taking apart the Nikon Coolpix L16, you should first check with the manufacturer to see if any warranty is left on the camera, or if any recalls of the product may have fixed the problem you are having. As soon as you take apart the camera, you will void its warranty.

With the camera turned on, discharge the flash at full power, and then quickly turn the camera off and remove the battery. Cameras with built-in flashes have capacitors inside that store power for the flash. Do not touch the capacitor when you open the camera.
