Soft or Hard Reboot
- 1
Press "Alt" plus "Cap" plus "Backspace" or "Alt" plus "Cap" plus "Delete" at the same time on your keypad. The specific combination of keys depends on your Curve model. Wait for your phone to finish its soft reboot. If the trackpad still doesn't work after a soft reboot, try a hard reboot.
- 2
Remove the battery cover on the back and remove the battery. Wait for at least 15 seconds and replace the battery and cover. Your phone should now begin the reboot process.
- 3
Test the responsiveness of your Curve's trackpad.
Reload Software
- 1
Connect your Curve to your computer and open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Click "Device" and select "Update My Device." On the dialog box that appears, click on "View Other versions." Select the upgrade option and then click on "Install Upgrade." You may have to enter your phone's password to start the installation.
- 2
Check which applications you want to load. Click "Settings and check "Delete All Application Data" and "Erase All Currently Installed Applications." Uncheck the "Back Up Device Data Automatically During Installation" button. Click "OK," "Next" and "Finish."
- 3
Close the software and return to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
